Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 1:00AM I am going to breastfeed Baby Shortcake, if my body cooperates (not all women who want to can, unfortunately). I have hope that things will go smoothly, though, so I'm reading and researching, and leaking. Umm, yup. I'm already leaking colostrum - enough to have to put cotton pads in my bras to prevent the inevitable wet stains. Funny enough, Harvey's barking seems to set my nips off - I've heard of crying making women leak, but really? He is my "furbaby" but this seems excessive! haha!

Anyway, I really like milkstars clothing because you can, literally, wear a nice looking top and have your boobs easily and sneakily accessible for breast feeding. Each shirt has a second layer which you pull up - and can use as a cover up during feeding. They're easy to use while baby-wearing (in a sling or carrier), and come in five different basic styles. I can't wait to try these out!

I've been following you since your wedding planning days (sounds slighty stalkerish saying that) which was just 2 mos before my own. In any case, we now have a 5 mos old -- you'll love motherhood! Here are my nursing shirt recommendations: BOOB nursing, Momzelle (Canadian based -- we now live in Brooklyn, NY -- so it's always nice to represent), Japanese Weekend (get the D&A - during and after shirts; no use buying prego shirts AND nursing ones), and Mayreau. Oooh -- my absolute must/lust-have pregnancy shirts were Isabella Oliver wrap tops which I wore from 2mos-end...they're really pricey, but I got them at a maternity consignment here in NYC, and they have them on eBay as well. Enjoy the glow --- 'mom face' does wonders for no one! :)
